Etihad is offering some surprisingly attractive business class deals to the Maldives.

This is part of a broader business class sale which runs until 8th February. We’ve already covered some good deals to India and you can also book Johannesburg and the Seychelles for around £1,700 from London.

For the Maldives, you are looking at £1,500 return if you start in the UK or €1,500 return (so saving around £200) if you start in Dublin or another European departure point. You’ll eat up much of that £200 getting to and from your EU departure point though!

EDIT: These fares seem to crept up by £200 / €200 during Tuesday

For example, from London Heathrow:

You can travel until May for these prices and can fly from London or Manchester. Availability is patchy so you need to be flexible.

You can also take advantage of Etihad’s free stopover programme in Abu Dhabi if you wish.

Remember that Etihad recently brought the A380 back to the Heathrow to Abu Dhabi route. Our Etihad flight reviews include the Etihad A380 Business Studio, the Etihad Boeing 777 First Class Suite and the Eithad A380 First Class Apartment.

Whilst Etihad isn’t a member of any major alliance, you can credit miles to Etihad Guest and cash them out for, well, cash, via their PointsPay service. You can also credit to partner programmes such as Air Canada Aeroplan and American Airlines AAdvantage. Details of all of the UK options for earning Etihad Guest miles from credit cards can be found in this article.

You can book on the Etihad site here.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (April 2025)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile.

The American Express Preferred Rewards Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it, not just with Etihad but with any airline.

Also possible to credit to Flying Blue, I think.

Can you skip a National Express service on the outgoing leg without invalidating the entire booking?

    • Rob says:

Based on past experience from other readers, yes.

Thank you. I can’t seem to proceed with any of these options. Gets stuck proceeding to payment screen on the Etihad site

Looks like competitive fares are back, this is a more frequent occurrence now.

@Rob – this is a nice deal, although it appears people are too busy trying to sort out their BAEC statuses today 😀

  • Tracey says:

Can’t replicate these prices. Shows 1500 when I try and select dates, but clicking through it appears to charge 1500 each way.

    • Rob says:

It does seem to have crept up – April cheapest now seems to be £1700 oe €1700 from Europe.

  • Steve says:

I booked man to mle for £3000 for two yesterday, worth noting that anything other than Heathrow will likely be on a 777 to Abu Dhabi which has the old seat that was retrimmed., but of a shame, but, saves the hassle of going to Heathrow. I couldn’t get the website to get a Manchester Seychelles route.
