Some interesting events have popped up which might be worth a look if you want to use your loyalty points for a night out.

After all, whilst you can’t argue with a free flight or hotel room, there is also a lot to be said for accessing an exclusive event.

Using Avios:

Privilege Club Collection, the new events platform from Qatar Airways Privilege Club, is auctioning off more VIP packages at The O2. These tickets are in The NinetyThird, the new super-exclusive VIP club in the venue:

NinetyThird O2

You can bid on (all are for two tickets):

  • John Meyer, 18th March (70,000 Avios current bid, includes a full meal with drink for two)
  • James Arthur, 22nd March (14,000 Avios current bid, no meal)
  • Michael McIntyre, 4th April (11 Avios current bid, no meal)

Bids will open very soon for Hans Zimmer (10th April), Michael McIntyre (13th April), WWE (19th April), Thirty Seconds to Mars (23rd April) and Take That (26th and 27th April).

Details of how to bid – which involves moving Avios across to Qatar Airways Privilege Club temporarily – are in this article.

The Privilege Club Collection website is here.

Using Hilton Honors points:

Def Leppard

Hilton is hosting a night with Joe Elliott of Def Leppard at Conrad St James in London on 26th April.

Joe won’t be singing, but will take part in a discussion about his life and career. Each package is for two people and includes a cocktail reception and a ‘meet and greet’ with Joe including a photo.

25 packages are available, priced at 100,000 Hilton Honors points for two people.

Chelsea FC

Today is the last day to bid on a VIP package for the Chelsea vs Newcastle game on Monday 11th March. The 8pm kick-off seems to be putting people off bidding but if you live within easy reach it’s a good deal. You get a four course meal with drinks for two, half time and full time refreshments and premium seating.

There are two packages available and the current bid is 120,000 Hilton points.

The Hilton auction site is here.

Using Marriott Bonvoy points:

Noel Gallagher

Bidding is about to close on a decent package to see Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 21st March.

It’s not just tickets. You will see the show from a private box with full hospitality, be invited to the official afterparty and then get a night at Marriott Kensington (walkable from the hall) to sleep it off.

Bidding closes tomorrow. There are two packages (each for two people) and the current bid is 104,500 Marriott Bonvoy points.

The Marriott Moments site is here.

Taylor Swift

Marriott is also giving away Taylor Swift tickets for selected concerts. For UK residents you are likely to be going to Stockholm, Madrid, Zurich, Milan, Hamburg or Vienna which are the European shows Marriott is sponsoring.

You can enter the draw by filling in your details here. You must be a Marriott Bonvoy member to enter.

Using Emirates Skywards miles:

Finally, Emirates Skywards has some Arsenal tickets available.

These are NOT restricted to elite members of Emirates Skywards, as has been the case for the last few months.

Current options are, for general admission tickets:

  • Arsenal vs Luton Town on 2nd April – 20,000 miles per ticket
  • Arsenal vs Aston Villa on 14th April – 20,000 miles per ticket
  • Arsenal vs AFC Bournemouth on 4th May – 20,000 miles per ticket

These are all ‘buy it now’ options. You can redeem here.

11 avios seems quite an attractive price for Michael McIntyre 🫣

  • Can2 says:

Why do I have to hear Taylor Swift’s name every day, even at HfP!

“Why do I have to hear Taylor Swift’s name every day, even at HfP!”

Sounds like you have an unhealthy obsession with her 🙂

  • slonik says:

With the Privilege Club, is there any kind of hospitality included, or do you have to buy your own drinks etc? (For the tickets where there is no meal mentioned.)

    • Rob says:

Nothing at present. They want to do it but there are practical issues – how can they give you free drinks and food in a private club they don’t own.

  • Alex B says:

Tangentially related- does anyone know if Man City tickets are available through Ethiad?

  • Doommonger says:

Noel Gallagher deal looks like decent value, you’d have to give me 11 Avios to go and watch McIntyre, Taylor swift will be a Campfest wherever it is, I would however pay 20000 Emirates points to see Arsenal give Luton Town a thrashing whatever time the KO.
