Use Avios for a new Manchester to Casablanca flight with Royal Air Maroc

Whilst the launch was, unsurprisingly, muted due to the pandemic, Royal Air Maroc joined the oneworld airline alliance in 2020.
This meant that you can now earn and spend Avios, and earn British Airways Executive Club tier points, on Royal Air Maroc services.
The airline has just announced the return of flights between Manchester and Casablanca.
Flights will only operate over the summer, launching on 24th June. Services will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, departing Manchester at 18.20 (21.45 arrival). The return leaves Casablanca at 13.45 (17.20 arrival). Flights use a Boeing 737.
The existing Manchester to Marrakech flight will continue.
We’ve not managed to give Royal Air Maroc a try yet. Frustratingly Avios redemption flights have never been bookable at ba.com since the airline joined oneworld – you can see availability but you always get a message saying:
“Sorry there is a problem with booking this journey online. Try selecting other flights”
…. so you need to call. Taxes and charges are apparently fairly high so, unless you are looking for a Business Class redemption, cash may be the best option regardless.
