Bicester Village, the luxury open-air shopping destination in Oxfordshire, is running another of its Private Sale events from now until 2nd June.

Participating boutiques will be increasing their sale discounts to as much as 60%. ‘Private Sale’ pricing is only available to shoppers who are registered via the Bicester Village website and who download a special QR code which must be scanned at check out.

Bicester Village is also a partner with many frequent traveller schemes including Avios (via multiple partners) and Virgin Points.

Bicester Village private sale

Virgin Red is offering a special deal during the Private Sale if you choose to earn Virgin Points with your shopping.

The standard earn rate is 1 point per £1 spent. This is doubled during the Private Sale, and is tripled (3 Virgin Points per £1) if you spend £501+ in one trip.

Once you’ve finished shopping for the day, go to the Village Welcome Centre at the railway station and present your proof of membership plus shopping receipts to collect your Virgin Points.

Alternatively, you can use the e-redemption service. You can email a copy of your receipts to Bicester Village and they will ensure that your points are credited. This must be done within 24 hours of making your purchases. You can find out more on their website here.

PS. On paper, Accor Live Limitless is the most generous Bicester Village partner. You get 3 Accor points per £1 spent, worth 6 Eurocents off your next hotel stay. This is a 5%+ return. However, when I tried this last year the points never turned up (unsurprising, given Accor’s IT) despite me watching my number being input. Your mileage may vary ….
