One of the lesser known British Airways Executive Club partners is market research group ‘Avios for Thoughts‘.

It turns out that we haven’t covered this for (ahem) five years, when it was branded ‘Rewards for Thoughts’, so I though I’d give it a mention today.

‘Avios for Thoughts’ is offering a decent 600 Avios points for signing up, taking the welcome tutorial and completing one survey.

You can find details on ba.com here.

It seems simple enough.  Once you sign up, you will be emailed consumer surveys on an occasional basis.

You will earn between 20 Avios and 350 Avios for every further survey you complete.

To be honest, I doubt this is worth your time for such a small number of points but you could always do them on the train in the morning or in front of the TV.

However, when you complete your welcome tutorial and first survey you will receive a bonus of 600 Avios points.  This is more like it!

Whether or not you cancel your membership after the points post from your first survey is up to you.  It is worth joining and completing one survey.

You can join via this page of the British Airways website.

  • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

I’d like to read experiences from people who aready take part on the number of pre screening questions you need to answer to be even selected to get to the full surveys.

I gave up on e-rewards as the number pre screening questions kept increasing so just didn’t make it worthwhile doing after answering a dozen plus questions (some of them related to the main survey topic) and still not getting through to earn the larger amounts.

    • johnny_c-l says:

      +1

    • dundj says:

It’s the same company as e-Rewards. Make of that what you will.

    • RussellH says:

There are good days and bad days. Sometimes you get screened out on every surveys, so I go away and leave itb for a few days. Then, when I come back, I often get four or five completed surveys in a row.

If I get screened out after several minutes, though, I always make a fuss – and get some sort of at least half decent survey credit.

  • A400m says:

100 avios plus 80 credited straight away for signing up and completing the survey. No sign of the bonus 500….
    ‘Passed’ pre selection but
I got de selected from the first survey I tried, but was successful on the 2nd.

  • James says:

I don’t use Avios for Thoughts as the earn rate was too low. However, I do participate in e-rewards surveys but don’t spend much time doing them (5 mins/day and occasionally 20 minutes for a qualifying survey). Even if I don’t qualify for surveys I get 25 points per survey (125 points max a day). I registered by signing up for e-rewards via Accor Live Limitless (ALL) as it also gives me more flexible airline options for redemption. On a monthly basis I usually redeem on Iberia Avios so will usually earn 750-1,500 avios a month – this is where I earn most of my Avios vs regular card spend.

    • sturgeon says:

At the end of the day this is worth £7.50 to £15 a month. You could buy the points and get hours of time back which should be worth more to you than £15 a month?

      • RussellH says:

It all depends on your personal situation, but I am quite certain that I earn a lot more than £15 a month.
But then I am retired, with no children to worry about. And if I have other things to do, then I do not do surveys. If I have time on my hands, then I do.

  • David says:

A good tip is to use it to activate an Iberia account for transfers. 1 Avios is enough and lands near enough immediately.

    • AyyGee says:

Dumb question, but how would I do that? Just opened an Iberia Plus account but… Avios For Thoughts asks for my BAEC number?

      • Pablo says:

Find aviosforthoughts on iberia website and register from there. Put iberia number where it asks for BAEC number. Initially takes 2-3 days for the first avios to post to iberia but after that it’s instant.

        • AyyGee says:

Perfect, thanks for your help – and it actually posted 100 immediately!

  • Lesley says:

I tend to do these surveys when I’m watching TV, I’ve made over 20,000 Avios to date.

  • Greenpen says:

I gave up with eRewards as soon as Virgin became part of Sky Team. The majority of surveys are tedious and I really don’t like being asked to compare, such as “If cars were drinks, what would a Toyota be: champagne on a cruise, cava in the air, Prosecco with the girls, BabyCham before you’re 16………”

    • Greenpen says:

I should have added that I did this to provide a very slow top up to my Account as I very rarely fly paid Virgin so had no other way of keeping the account active. With ST I can as although I still don’t fly Virgin I do end up on small airlines for short flights, often domestic, so can occasionally top up.

Alas, NH redemptions using VS points is going up quicker than I seem to collect them!

  • Gordon says:

I do remember you covering this Rob, was it really 5 years ago? How time flies….

  • Keith Purdom says:

I agree many questions are weird and encouraging of not giving thought full answers but i have gained 2000 avios this year Hilton do the same and often identical durvrys
