One of the lesser known British Airways Executive Club partners is market research group ‘Avios for Thoughts‘.

It turns out that we haven’t covered this for (ahem) five years, when it was branded ‘Rewards for Thoughts’, so I though I’d give it a mention today.

‘Avios for Thoughts’ is offering a decent 600 Avios points for signing up, taking the welcome tutorial and completing one survey.

You can find details on ba.com here.

It seems simple enough.  Once you sign up, you will be emailed consumer surveys on an occasional basis.

You will earn between 20 Avios and 350 Avios for every further survey you complete.

To be honest, I doubt this is worth your time for such a small number of points but you could always do them on the train in the morning or in front of the TV.

However, when you complete your welcome tutorial and first survey you will receive a bonus of 600 Avios points.  This is more like it!

Whether or not you cancel your membership after the points post from your first survey is up to you.  It is worth joining and completing one survey.

You can join via this page of the British Airways website.

My welcome bonus was only 500. Did I do something wrong? Got 500 and 80 avios for signing up and doing one survey.

  • DanC says:

I had some really dull conf calls. Managed to get 624 points through signup & some surveys 🙂

  • VSCXFAN says:

Signed up and accepted for/earned from tutorial – but still waiting (after 10 minutes) for Available Surveys to load so that I can earn 500.

  • VSCXFAN says:

…and has now loaded 8 surveys all of which have rejected me.

I’d rather give Virgin the feedback they want (for 50 points per survey) than waste more time on BA’s (appropriately!) dysfunctional “benefit”

  • Simon says:

I’ve been doing these, and e-rewards, for a few years. The surveys are rarely anything but tedious but I think that the pay off is just about worth it.

I get 2,000 Avios a month on e-rewards and between 1-2,000 on Avios for thoughts. I’d guess that I spend about 4-5 hours a week on them and it allows me a long haul flight every so few years. Realistically this is the only way I’m getting on the front of the plane nowadays so I think that the boredom is worth it.

  • Peter Mc says:

I’ve been doing them since the last sign up bonus, having the points sent to my Iberia account both to keep that alive and to avoid swamping my BA account with entries which would make it hard to see if a flight/car/hotel had credited.
Avios for Thoughts does award 2 Avios for any ineligible surveys, over time I have learnt what survey partners not to bother with and make sure I’m screened out.
Sometimes having answered all the qualifying questions honestly and then been presented with an inappropriate survey which I have then completed to the best of my ability and earned 40 or 80 Avios.

  • Steve says:

I find these sites useful for making downtime productive, but I agree with everyone who’s annoyed at the number of the pre-selection questions sometimes. Some surveys also expect you to answer 100 (not exaggerating) sub-questions in the surveys themselves. I’ve ditched more than one out of boredom.

  • A says:

Did the tutorial, now says to complete your first survey and earn a 500 bonus, and below that ‘no surveys are available at this time’.
