Hilton Honors has launched an exceptionally generous deal for anyone who is seeking to earn or retain Hilton Honors status.

You have the chance to earn double elite night credits on every stay – cash and reward – for the rest of 2024.

Even if you haven’t done a single Hilton stay yet this year, you could still earn or retain Diamond Elite status with just 30 nights over the next six months.

There is a condition, but it is manageable

There is only one rule you have to meet to earn double elite night credits for the rest of the year.

You need to be a member of the new ‘Hilton for Business’ programme. This can be either as a company owner or an an employee of a member company.

Here’s the important thing. You simply need to be a member of ‘Hilton for Business’. You do NOT need to book stays at the ‘Hilton for Business’ rate. Any cash rate, or even a reward stay, will earn you double elite night credits for the rest of the year.

You don’t need to opt in to the promotion. It is automatic as soon as you join ‘Hilton for Business’. It kicked in for check-outs after 1st July, and I duly received four elite night credits for a two night stay at Hilton Venice this week.

How do you join ‘Hilton for Business’?

Hilton Honors launched a new small business programme called ‘Hilton for Business’ back in January.

I’m not sure how good the take-up has been – despite a 7,500 Hilton Honors points incentive to register – but Hilton has now been tempted into launching its double elite nights promotion.

This is how it works:

• when you sign up your small business, you are asked for your existing Hilton Honors account details. Your ‘Hilton for Business’ account is linked to this.

• the only requirement for joining is that you have a business email address which you must verify by clicking a link in a test email sent to you. There is no requirement to provide a company registration or VAT number. You MUST have a unique email suffix (eg ‘headforpoints.com’ in our case) and all your employees must have an email address with the same suffix. It is NOT essential that the address on the Hilton Honors account has this suffix.

• once you have signed up, you receive a link to send to co-workers. By clicking the link, they can join your ‘Hilton for Business’ account and link it to their existing Hilton Honors account. To join, they must provide an email address using the company suffix and click a link in a verification email.

That’s it!

How do you book rooms with ‘Hilton for Business’?

It is immpressively simple. Going forward, when you or your co-workers log in to the usual Hilton website, they will be given the choice of whether they want to see ‘Hilton for Business’ rates as well as standard rates.

‘Hilton for Business’ rates are worth booking:

• they are around 2% cheaper than Member Best Flexible Rate

• you get standard ‘Best Flexible’ cancellation rights, usually up to the day before arrival

‘Hilton for Business’ rates are NOT cheaper than Advance Payment rates. If you usually book pre-paid rates then you are wasting your time signing up for ‘Hilton for Business’ unless you want to take part in the current ‘double elite nights’ promotion.

How does it work for Hilton Honors points?

The guest receives their Hilton Honors points and elite night credit as usual. This is important – the person who stays is not in any way worse off by using ‘Hilton for Business’

On top of this, additional points are accumulated in the ‘Hilton for Business’ acccount:

• 7,500 Hilton Honors points (worth £25 on our valuation) are earned after the first stay is made under the ‘Hilton for Business’ rate (first stay per account, not per person on the account)

• 5,000 Hilton Honors points (worth £17 on our valuation) are earned for every 10 nights booked in aggregate by employees using the ‘Hilton for Business’ rate

The person who set up the ‘Hilton for Business’ account decides what to do with the points. You can transfer them to your own Hilton Honors account or you can transfer them to one of your registered employees.

You cannot redeem points directly from the ‘Hilton for Business’ account – they must be transferred to a personal account first. This is a positive point, because it means there isn’t an isolated small balance in the ‘Hilton for Business’ account which may never be used.

Conclusion

If you are interested in earning or retaining Hilton Honors status for 2025, it is well worth signing up your company (or asking your employer to register) so you can enjoy double elite night credits.

The only caveat is that you need to remember that you can earn Hilton Honors status by nights OR by stays. The targets are:

• Silver – requires 4 stays or 10 nights. Benefits are 20% bonus on base points, free bottled water at most brands.
• Gold – requires 20 stays or 40 nights or 75,000 base points. Benefits are 80% bonus on base points, ‘preferred’ room of some sort (often just a higher floor or better view, not necessarily next category up), free breakfast (F&B cash credit in the US), additional bonuses from 40+ nights per year.
• Diamond – requires 30 stays or 60 nights or 120,000 base points. Benefits are 100% bonus on base points, non-guaranteed upgrade, free breakfast (F&B cash credit in the US), free high-speed internet, guaranteed lounge access.  Additional milestone bonuses kick in from 40+ nights per year to encourage you to keep staying after you earn or retain Diamond.

As you can see, if you only ever do ‘one night’ hotel stays then the double elite nights offer doesn’t help you! You would earn status based on stays just as quickly as you will with double elite nights.

If your average hotel stay is longer than one night, earning double elite nights will see you charging towards status quickly.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

SPECIAL OFFER: Until 30th April 2025, the annual fee on the basic Hilton Honors debit card is halved from £60 to £30. The sign-up bonus is also easier to earn – you need to spend £1,000 either in the UK or abroad within three months. The usual bonus rule requires you to spend the full £1,000 outside the UK.

There is another way of getting Hilton Honors status, and earning Hilton Honors points, from a payment card.

Holders of The Platinum Card from American Express receive FREE Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Radisson Rewards Premium and MeliaRewards Gold status.
