News in brief:
Luton Airport opens a new drop off area
Most airports have introduced a drop-off charge (Heathrow is now charging £5) but Luton Airport was unique in charging you £5 to drop someone off in a location that still left them quite a way from the front door.
The old drop off area was advertised as being 250 metres from the terminal entrance, which can’t have been fun in inclement weather.
Luton Airport has now opened a new Express Drop Off area. This allows you to be dropped off directly outside the terminal door.
The fee (£5) is the same as the old drop off area. You get five minutes for your £5, with an additional charge of £1 per minute after that. You cannot remain for more than 20 minutes.
Free drop off areas are available elsewhere in the airport although a shuttle bus is required to reach the terminal.
A brand new combined drop off and pick-up area is being built as part of work to replace the multi-storey car park which burned down last October.

KLM expands at Belfast City Airport
KLM has announced that it is adding a second daily flight from Belfast City Airport to Amsterdam from 28th October.
The new flight will depart at 6.30am, complementing the existing 5.20pm departure.
As well as substantially improving connection options in Amsterdam, it allows for same-day return trips for the first time.
You can check pricing on the KLM website here.
