Hilton Honors has just launched its new Autumn 2024 promotion, Power Upwhich is now open for registration – click here.

To give Hilton credit, it is very straightforward with minimal small print:

  • you will earn 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay completed between 3rd September and 31st December 2024
  • that’s it!

There is no cap to what you can earn and there are no minimum stay requirements.

The bonus will trigger on reward stays too.

What is your return here?

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your spending here.

For someone who only does one night stays, you would be earning 2,500 bonus points per nightI would value that at £8.33 which is a decent result especially as it doesn’t include your base points or any status bonus.

Of course, if your only Hilton stays during the four months are five nights long, you are not doing too well.  Your bonus will average 500 points per night (2,500/5) which I’d value at £1.66 per night.

There is no small print

There is no small print except that you need to register in advance via this page of the Hilton website:

  • there is no minimum stay requirement
  • existing bookings still count
  • all Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part

Conclusion

2,500 bonus points per stay is a decent offer for someone who tends to do short stays.

If your hotel stays are generally just for one or two nights at lower cost brands then you may want to consider moving them to Hilton over the next few months.

Make sure you register here if you have any Hilton stays coming up over the next four months.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 31st December.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.

You can apply for either card here.

It’s a bummer because I’ve got a paid three nights stay at the end of September 😩 I was hoping for a double points promotion like the current one as it would get me a bonus of around 9,000 points. I guess I’ll try to get more one night reward stays redeemed during this period.

  • Tariq says:

Astonishing that Hilton is the only chain that’s offered consistent and accessible promos throughout this year.

    • Chrisasaurus says:

And yet, the Marriott double elite nights promotion in Q1 was the only one that materially impacted my stay pattern…

  • BJ says:

Excellent , great for road trips and one night weekends away. Hopefully we might also see another amex offer later in the year too. Despite the low point valuation it is easy to do so much better with Hilton and a ‘wait and see strategy’ can pay off here. Redeemed 240k for a £3000+ stay 8n Portugal on October fir example, at that rate it even makes sense to buy HH points at regular price.

    • roberto says:

@BJ , off to the Conrad Algarve myself next week but at 95k per night however the fifth night free deal makes it worth while compared to the €800+ per night cash rates.

      Certainly a lovely hotel.

      • BJ says:

Have a great time there @Roberto. We have 5 nights there too in October followed by 5for4 at The Vintage Lisbon for 240k (1 of the nights was over £900, 2 over £500 and 2 over £300) which we swapped from 200k at the Doubletree.

      • babyg says:

Nice hotel, but too far from the beach…

        • BJ says:

We’ll have a car and be exploring. Beaches are not a big thing for us except that we line to relax on them for an hour or two late afternoon or early evening.

  • Jenny says:

Would you get 2500 points each time if you check out after one day at a time, at the same hotel?

    • Dan says:

No, in my experience they combine the bookings together into one stay, unfortunately!

    • BJ says:

No. If you don’t mind doing that you could stay alternate nights at another nearby Hilton.

      • BJ says:

Or if you are staying as a couple by booking alternate nights under each guest name. U’d be too embarrassed to try this on a longer stay but it’s fine for a 2-night stay, just looks like you’re sharing the cost.

        • Tracy says:

I did this once upon a time in Florida, 14 nights. 7 nights me, 7 nights hubby. We managed to keep the same room but the keys kept needing reset plus the hold each time we checked in took over a week to drop off so we had 7+ holds on our credit card 😂
Got a spin to win each checkin at reception plus qualified for diamond challenge = result

    • Peter K says:

If you try it under one name then Hilton blends all the nights together as one stay, even if you book as individual nights and check out each day.

  • ClubSmed says:

I wonder if it is just a coincidence that the one night booking I was looking at yesterday for a stay in September has increased by ~£8?

  • HH says:

Are SLH properties included where booked through Hilton?

  • JimmyJimmy says:

    I got 4000 bonus offer 🙂

    • BJ says:

For this? Isn’t that 4000 offer the one they usually send out to inactive members that gives them 4000 bonus for their next stay only in an effort to tempt them back?

  • AC says:

For stays like these, do you have to complete the stay by 31st Dec or just check in by before 31st Dec?

I have a stay that checks in before 31st and checks out after at the moment and wonder if this bonus will be triggered.

    • JohnTh says:

Look at T&Cs – “Offer valid for stays completed from 3 September 2024 to 31 December 2024.”

    • lordy says:

That should end up being Q1s promo. Whatever that will be.

“Offer valid for stays *completed* from 3 September 2024 to 31 December 2024”

So vs the double up promo, this is better if your stay ends up being under £233. A lot of mine are one night stays so works well for me.
