Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

NEW: Get 9,000 Avios for £149.99 of wine by combining two generous The Wine Flyer deals

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The Wine Flyer, the Avios-run wine retailer, is two years old.

To celebrate, it is running two bonus Avios offers simultaneously which you can stack.

If you qualify for both, you can earn up to 9,000 Avios with a £149.99 spend. A £129.99 spend earns up to 7,000 Avios.

This deal partly ends on Sunday 20th October so you need to move quickly.

Wine Flyer

To maximise your bonus you need access to two deals.

This is the offer you will see advertised on The Wine Flyer website:

  • 5,000 bonus Avios for spending £149.99 on a pre-mixed 12-bottle case using code AUTUMNBONUS

or

  • 3,000 bonus Avios for spending £129.99 on a pre-mixed 12-bottle case using code AUTUMNBONUS

You can see the range of pre-mixed cases here. Only 12-bottle cases qualify for the offer.

The expiry date for this offer is 20th October.

You can stack this offer with one of two deals which currently appear on the two British Airways American Express credit cards:

or

The expiry date for this offer is 31st October.

You need to opt in to the American Express bonus via the ‘Offers’ page of the Amex app or website BEFORE making your purchase. If you have the Premium Plus card, you are looking for this:

The Wine Flyer American Express offer

How do you get the offer?

It’s easy enough. Head to The Wine Flyer website, put a 12-bottle mixed case from this page in your cart and add code ‘AUTUMNBONUS’.

You will see 5,000 bonus Avios added to your basket if you have spent £149.99+ or 3,000 bonus Avios added if you have spent between £129.99 and £149.98.

Remember to pay with the British Airways American Express card you registered for the 2nd part of the deal – the additional 4,000 or 3,000 Avios offer. These Avios will appear on your next British Airways American Express statement.

In the most generous scenario, someone who spends £149.99+ and pays with their British Airways American Express Premium Plus card would receive 9,000 bonus Avios. 5,000 Avios will arrive immediately from The Wine Flyer – plus the base Avios for your purchase – and the additional 4,000 Avios will come with your next American Express statement. You can’t argue with that.

If you want to combine both offers, I suggest you order ASAP because the AUTUMNBONUS code expires on Sunday 20th October.

If you are not interested in any of the 12-bottle cases on offer, you could trigger the American Express part of the offer by spending £100 (free card) or £125 (Premium Plus card) on a few select bottles by 31st October.

Delivery is free if you spend over £100. However, The Wine Flyer does not deliver to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, The Isle of Man and BFPO addresses.

I had been mulling over the 4k targeted card offer for a week or two, then along comes the wine flyer birthday bonus which made me pull the trigger. 3 champagnes delivered 😁

  • GMT says:

Ordered the 12 x Australian reds on Thursday for £149.99, great selection and delivered by DPD yesterday. Extremely well packaged and around 10k Avios combining the voucher code offer and BAPP offer, very happy.

  • Fiona Lees says:

Some of their wine is okay (a quick google search for reviews to see what you’re buying first),and I’ve always found the box and packaging to be more than adequate (no broken bottles). Combined with the avios boost, and being strategic, you could easily get 25,000 avios purchasing 4 boxes (with Amex offer twice a year, 15 points per bottle offers, 3000, 4000, 5000 avios bonus offers, etc). Boost 25,000 avios x 3 for £690 to get 100,000 avios for a single person business redemption reward. A business class flight to Johannesburg for £690 avios purchase and £450 tax is a pretty good deal.

  • Nick says:

Sadly they dont ship to N.Ireland. I asked them about this previously and they told me they were working on it but I guess Brexit causes too much hassle for the small market size of N.Ireland..

  • Misty says:

Ordered yesterday afternoon and 3 bottles champagne delivered in under 24 hours, no breakages, so a happy bunny. I thought their packaging was good, maybe it’s different on the 12 bottle cases. Hope the 4000 turns up on the next statement.

  • Cheng says:

Anyone see the Amex 4k points in their account yet?
