There is nothing like simplicity when designing a loyalty scheme, and the free breakfast benefit for Titanium Elite or Platnium Elite members of Marriott Bonvoy is nothing like simple.

I put together a guide to what breakfast benefits you will get at each of the Marriott Bonvoy brands if you have Platinum or Titanium status. This update includes City Express and Four Points Flex for the first time.

The information for the table below is taken from the scheme Terms & Conditions which can be found here

St Regis Mardavall breakfast buffet meats

Even if you don’t have Platinum status or higher in Marriott Bonvoy, it is worth looking at the table below to marvel at the complexity of what Marriott has created.

Above is a picture of the breakfast buffet from Rhys’s review of The St Regis Mardavall in Mallorca, which would be free to Platinum Elite members and above.

Breakfast benefit for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite (and higher) members

FYI there is an exemption for the MGM properties, even if their branding (e.g. Tribute) would usually provide a choice that includes free breakfast.

  • Adam says:

Really useful as this always confuses me.
Does anyone know the situation with Renaissance Resorts that have no lounge? I am platinum and am staying at the Renaissance Resorts Pattaya next week which has no lounge..

Just as an update City Express offer free breakfast for all guests: https://www.marriott.com/marriott-brands/city-express.mi

Thanks, will adjust – although what I wrote is from the T&C!

Evern confusing for their own staff!!! 😂 I only know as stayed in one in downtown Cancun last March.

  • Phillip says:

For those booking multiple rooms, worth noting that many hotels also enforce the rule of “for two guests registered in the same room”. So ensure the member with status is sharing a room with someone (at least on paper) in order to get breakfast for two.

  • John Gallagher says:

You sure Ritz Carlton is still nothing? I thought that changed to a free breakfasts about a year ago?

    • BlairWaldorfSalad says:

My experience is they comp breakfast when I’ve stayed as a Tit

  • _aDifferentSimon_ says:

This is just a passive aggressive “you have too many brands” article 😀

  • ClubX says:

I have to say, was really surprised when Ritz Carlton Berlin offered breakfast as a welcome amenity as a Gold during my recent stay. Guess it all depends.

  • Gtellez says:

In the past two months I have been to two different hotels that only offered continental breakfast for elite members (Marriott Los Sueños Costa Rica and W Punta de Mita México). The wording in the T&Cs is so bad that allows hotels to play games. In the first hotel, the were charging 30 usd per person to upgrade to buffet breakfast (regular price 40 usd)… elite recognition is getting worse…
