Get 250 free Nectar points (156 Avios) for 30 seconds work

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

It’s always worth keeping an eye on the Nectar app because it throws out occasional bonuses of free Nectar points, albeit they are often so well hidden you may struggle to find them.

You can currently claim 250 free Nectar points. These post immediately.

250 Nectar points converts to 156 Avios, although you need to convert in chunks of 400. You could also hold onto them until the new Nectar / Marriott Bonvoy partnership launches in a few weeks.

How do you get your 250 free Nectar points?

Go into the Nectar app and you will see a tile called ‘Your 2024 basket revealed’. You obviously will NOT see this if you never shop in Sainsbury’s so stop reading now.

This will show you how you fared among your fellow customers last year. It turns out that I am the No 1 buyer of Jus-Rol cinnamon rolls at Sainsbury’s Fulham Road, which was a huge accolade.

  • Steve says:

Great freebie. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Daniel says:

#2 buyer of Vet’s Kitchen dog food in Dulwich!

  • Sarah Myners says:

That orange tile hasn’t appeared! Would it be somewhere else?

  • Colin says:

I’m No.3 buyer of Beechwood Smoked Cheese in the small Bude supermarket. Thanks Rob, I hadn’t spotted the freebie when I looked before.

  • TimM says:

No, doesn’t work for me either.

I am a regular online shopper of Sainsbury’s. I am also long-suffering of their substitution habits. Most recently, I ordered 12 bottles of red wine, allowing substitutions, and they brought me just 3 of some other red wine. Did they not have any other red wine at all? It is not as if they charge you the same as ordered, they charge the full price for the substituted items then give a voucher for the difference with a short time in which to use it.

Not getting the ‘free’ 250 Nectar points feels like further abuse.

    • Scott says:

It’s not as if you’re obliged to accept the substitution, you can decline, for a full refund, and buy your wine elsewhere that week.

    • George says:

If you’re long suffering then why do you keep using them?

  • Monica says:

No 4 buyer of snacking pickles in Scotland…

  • Ruralite says:

    1. Gooseberry Fool 2. Lindahl’s Kvarg yoghurts & 3. White vinegar are my top buys – the vinegar my go to for cleaning especially limescale! Points posted instantly, thanks for the tip.

    • Delbert says:

I wouldn’t purchase white vinegar for cleaning from supermarkets. Industrial strength white vinegar is much cheaper on Amazon for 5 litres and upwards.

  • Mandy says:

Thanks for that offer info -got the points immediately -but on my laptop -couldnt find a link on the app.
