Get 250 free Nectar points (156 Avios) for 30 seconds work

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

It’s always worth keeping an eye on the Nectar app because it throws out occasional bonuses of free Nectar points, albeit they are often so well hidden you may struggle to find them.

You can currently claim 250 free Nectar points. These post immediately.

250 Nectar points converts to 156 Avios, although you need to convert in chunks of 400. You could also hold onto them until the new Nectar / Marriott Bonvoy partnership launches in a few weeks.

How do you get your 250 free Nectar points?

Go into the Nectar app and you will see a tile called ‘Your 2024 basket revealed’. You obviously will NOT see this if you never shop in Sainsbury’s so stop reading now.

This will show you how you fared among your fellow customers last year. It turns out that I am the No 1 buyer of Jus-Rol cinnamon rolls at Sainsbury’s Fulham Road, which was a huge accolade.

It seems that everyone gets the same amount. They appear to post immediately.

Oh dear, #3 for Monster (of a particular variety) at Sainsbury’s Cornhill Exchange.

I was a bit tired of “your xxxx year unpacked” from almost every organisation I’ve used, but this one was at least rewarded!

  • Thomas Atkins says:

Ok, now worked when opened the app on the iPhone; Two fiddy in da house 😃

#1 buyer of kabanos in Sale. We barely even shop at Sainsbury’s!

  • Crafty says:

I think Asda Rewards is offering £5 (unannounced) for viewing its equivalent promotion. Can’t be sure, but definitely had £5 randomly added on a day I viewed the app and didn’t shop (haven’t shopped there in 2025).

Rob has boarding school fees to pay remember…. 🙂 You’re all lemmings 🙂 And I genuinely make that comment not out of spite but as an XO who doesn’t have a chip on his shoulder about Sheffield. Or Yorkshire. And I even like London! (Though I try not to visit if I must 🙂

  • Sandgrounder says:

I was the number 1 purchaser of a a vegan smoked cheese substitute in my local store. My wife was number 2.
