Finnair (yes Finnair, not British Airways) has launched a new ‘buy Avios’ bonus promotion.

You will receive a 40% bonus when you buy Avios. You can buy on this page of the Finnair Plus website.

This is NOT a hugely attractive offer (you are paying 1.24p) so we are only mentioning it in case you need to buy some points for immediate use. Everyone else should sit this one out.

Buy Avios bonus via Finnair Plus!

The Avios can only be credited to a Finnair Plus account. You can move them into a British Airways Executive Club account by linking your BA and Finnair Plus accounts via the process here.

It is very simple:

You need to move 500 Avios into your Finnair Plus account before you are allowed to purchase.

What does it cost?

At the top end, which kicks in on purchases of 100,000+ Avios, you will pay 1.24p per Avios under this offer. This is based on paying €2,100 for 100,000 Avios + 40,000 bonus Avios. The maximum purchase is 200,000 Avios + 80,000 bonus.

Transactions are charged in Euros, so you will pay slightly more if your credit or debit card adds a 2.99% foreign exchange fee.

You can check pricing on this page of the Finnair website.

The offer ends on 23rd February although you should only buy at this rate if you have immediate plans to use them.

Mykonos – you might have missed the news about the earthquake activity in the region. Although Santorini is the most affected, other islands are also experiencing issues. I don’t think people have desire to visit The Cyclades anytime soon.

  • Richie says:

The Friday 7am BACF LCY-JMK flight was one of my favourites, shame it’s gone.
BACF missing A221 aircraft flight opportunities seems more glaringly obvious.

    • Chris W says:

Yes. That is the perfect aircraft for LCY.

    • Nick says:

Again, they can’t buy bigger aircraft until the airport has enough gates to handle them. LX and ITA can do it because they only have a handful of flights a day, BACF have far too many to fit.

      • Richie says:

LX and ITA had some foresight and grabbed the opportunities, IAG are too busy dreaming up pointless slot sitting routes such as LHR-Rimini and utilising Gatwick’s runway with small ATR propellor aircraft.

  • Frances says:

Im currently staying at the marriott for two weeks, which i do twice a year for work.
Ive just ordered a memory foam topper as the mattress toppers are so lumpy I can’t sleep on them.
Refurbished rooms but not the bedding

  • Chandon Paul says:

I love flying from LCY. I was booked to fly from LCY to Mykonos in June. Avios reward flight as well. Gutted it’s been cancelled and will now be flying from Heathrow which will mean added journey time on the Elizabeth Line from where I live in Canary Wharf London. Annoyed with BA for doing this.
