IHG’s Hotel Indigo coming to Menorca in 2026, with Vignette Mallorca due this year

No sooner has IHG opened the Kimpton Los Monteros hotel in Marbella, the company has announced the signing of Hotel Indigo Menorca.

This is a boutique 75 room property due to open in summer 2026.

It is likely to open on time because it is not a new build. It will be a conversion – hopefully quite an aggressive one – of ‘bucket and spade’ property Set Hotel Agamenon in Es Castell.

Hotel Indigo Menorca

To quote IHG:

The 75-key conversion property will be a haven for travellers seeking a unique and locally inspired experience. Located in Mahón, the island’s capital, Hotel Indigo Menorca is situated in a prime location overlooking the stunning port and has excellent transport links, including easy access to Menorca Airport making it the perfect base for exploring this idyllic island.

Guests can enjoy a truly relaxing escape, featuring exceptional amenities such as private terraces in every room, a sea-view restaurant, a stylish bar showcasing local flavours, and an outdoor pool. The hotel’s location in Menorca is renowned for its 300 days of sunshine, pristine beaches, and tranquil charm, ensuring a captivating international appeal.

True to the brand’s ethos, Hotel Indigo Menorca will be a unique reflection of its neighbourhood, with the island’s story being woven into the guest experience. Beyond the ideal launchpad for guests, Hotel Indigo Menorca will be an integral part of the community, directly overlooking Isla del Rey and the renowned Hauser & Wirth art centre. Just steps away, Es Castell Marina’s vibrant atmosphere invites guests to immerse themselves in Menorca’s cultural and coastal charm.

Vignette Finca Banyols hotel

Vignette Collection Mallorca is coming this summer

Whilst the announcement of this hotel last year didn’t make it onto HfP, it is worth mentioning that IHG is gearing up to open a new Mallorca property this year.

This follows the disappointing (to me) Kimpton Aysla Mallorca which I reviewed here after it opened in 2023.

Finca Banyols, Vignette Collection is described as:

Hidden in the gentle hills of Alaró, Finca Banyols awaits you. Built in 1475, the 250-acre hotel has been carefully restored to preserve its soul. Over the estate’s own vineyards, a majestic panorama of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage site, unfolds.

The hotel effortlessly blends Mallorcan tradition with modern-day amenities including two restaurants, spa treatment rooms and an indoor and outdoor pool. Begin your day among the olive groves and fragrant lemon trees. Delight in the flavours of the hotel’s fine dining restaurant helmed by Michelin awarded chef Daniel Chavez-Bello. Unwind with a spa treatment using local honey from the hotel’s own beehives or simply take in the breathtaking view from the heated outdoor pool towards the endless starry sky.

Subtle and authentic. A luxury that feels effortless. Discover the unique charm of Finca Banyols. Only a 20-minute drive from Palma de Mallorca airport.

The hotel website is here. Bookings are not yet being taken and it is possible that the initial ‘summer 2025’ target will be missed.

Do you know anything about Hyatt’s Sarena de Muro Resort in Mallorca. It’s a refurb of a tired 5 Star, opening June as a Cat 6 “Destination by”. But hard to know how high they’re pitching it.
