Coming Wednesday: a great Marriott night out you can buy for 1 Bonvoy point

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Marriott Bonvoy has been running the ‘1-Point Drop’ for a while now, primarily in the US. This is the first time that we have featured one in the UK.

It’s very simple.

At a certain time, an event will become bookable on the Marriott Moments website for a grand total of 1 Marriott Bonvoy point.

Stanley Tucci Marriott Moments

This upcoming event is pretty cool and I’m annoyed that I’m going to be away when it takes place on 24th April at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel.

You and a friend will get to attend a cocktail reception and chat with Stanley Tucci, followed by a four course, wine paired, meal from acclaimed chef Richard Corrigan.

Not bad going for 1 Bonvoy point, which we’d value at 0.5p.

Tickets will become bookable at 4pm on Wednesday afternoon. There is a countdown clock here.

13 pairs of tickets will be sold for 1 Marriott Bonvoy point. A further two pairs will be auctioned. I suspect these will go for a decent points sum since the meal itself is worth around £400.

To quote Marriott:

Experience cocktails and conversation with Academy Award-nominated actor, writer, director, and producer Stanley Tucci in celebration of his new book ‘What I Ate in One Year’. After Stanley departs, members will enjoy a private dinner at one of London’s revered restaurants, Corrigan’s Mayfair, at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.

To start the evening, members will hear anecdotes from Stanley about his life and his book through a moderated conversation with Edith Bowman, famed Scottish radio DJ and television presenter. During the chat, members will enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail and also have the opportunity to get their copy of ‘What I Ate in One Year’ signed by the esteemed actor.

After Stanley departs, celebrity chef Richard Corrigan will then introduce his four-course, wine-paired menu, featuring the very best English and Irish produce. A revered restaurant in the London restaurant scene, Corrigan’s Mayfair of JW Marriott Grosvenor House London was awarded London Restaurant Opening of the Year in its first year and three AA Rosettes within its first three months. It remains a coveted reservation to this day.

Experience includes:

  • Access for two (2) to the Marriott Bonvoy Moment event with Stanley Tucci at Corrigan’s Mayfair located at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on Thursday, 24 April
  • Champagne reception upon arrival at Corrigan’s Mayfair
  • 45-minute moderated conversation with Stanley Tucci and Edith Bowman prior to dinner
  • Book signing with Stanley Tucci and one (1) signed copy of the book per person (2 books per package)
  • Four-course dinner with wine at Corrigan’s Mayfair with an introduction to the menu and anecdotes from Chef Richard Corrigan (please note each pair of Moments guests will be seated an their own table)

It should be a great night and I hope as many HfP readers as possible can get tickets.

If you don’t have a Marriott Bonvoy account, you can open one here. You can transfer 400 American Express Membership Rewards points across to get the one point you need (plus 599 to spare).

You could also buy 1,000 points here but I don’t think brand new accounts are able to purchase points.

Full details of the deal are here. Good luck!

I find his writing overrated honestly. He’s a better actor than a writer.

  • NorthernLass says:

This sounds like a great evening, I would definitely try for tickets if I lived near London; we enjoyed his Italian cookery/travel series. His wife is English (the sister of actress Emily Blunt) so you’d hope he was something of an Anglophile!

  • RobH not Rob says:

I got their email heads up last week and was hoping it may fly under the radar to a small degree.

    Hey ho.

    • Jordan D says:

Think a number of us were. One colleague joked that it would bubble up on here and scupper us. He was right.

  • Scarlets10 says:

A colleague and I ate there last week (pigeon pie, lamb cutlets with sorbet for dessert). Excellent food and service. The wine measures were a little on the small side from memory, but the enormous port bottle made of for it!

  • Pat says:

@Rob I heard you on Loyalty Wired 19 (March 23) where you incorrectly stated that SEN, HON (and by extension FTL and Gold) do not get lounge access on the new “Light” redemptions in Miles and More come the June changes. I know you don’t claim to be an expert on non-Avios airlines but I do hope you’ll retract next time you’re on there and research carefully instead of making misleading statements.

    • Rob says:

Lufty’s website says “For bookings from 3 June 2025, your status benefits as a frequent flyer will depend on the Award Flight fare as well as the terms and conditions on which the airline fares are based.”

In terms of what has been supplied to general members, this is the only published reference. Make of that line what you will. The M&M website does not say what ‘Light’ redemptions will include.

      • Pat says:

There’s no suggestion lounge access is to removed. It was pretty obvious to me and other blogs I’ve read that redemptions are to shadow revenue fare types which is why they use those terms.
Light fares lack the status benefits of free ASR and free checked-in baggage but where the passenger is eligible, they have lounge access, Fast Track, priority boarding etc.
Wouldn’t it be better contacting the LH press office if you’re unsure than making such statements on a “professional” miles and points podcast?

        • Rob says:

We just make things up as we go along 🙂 100% unscripted and unrehearsed.

However LH does not IIRC sell ‘Light’ cash tickets, only ‘Basic’. ‘Light’ will sit below ‘Basic’ but no-one knows what will differ. Most other airlines which sell ‘Light’ branded business fares exclude lounge access.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but there is a fair case for making the argument.

  • VinZ says:

I wanted to check if I had any points to bid for this thing (I’m not a huge fan of Stanley’s but I will always love him for the Devil Wears Prada) so I logged into my account to find that I have more than 17k points I didn’t know I had! Amazing… not even sure what I can get with them… where will I find the time to get into another loyalty scheme rabbit hole??? 😀

  • David says:

    Sold out

  • Thegasman says:

Well the site didn’t crash but gone in the blink of an eye…

    • bankinghelmet says:

Mine didn’t even work – countdown went to 0 and nothing happened, so I refreshed and it said all sold out
