Hilton Honors has just launched its new spring / summer promotion which is now open for registration – click here.

To give Hilton credit, it is very straightforward with minimal small print:

  • you will earn 1,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every STAY completed between 1st June and 15th August
  • that’s it!
Hilton launches its new bonus points promotion

This doesn’t sound like Hilton ….

I agree, it is an odd one.

Firstly, Hilton has run back-to-back promotions for a few years now. One finishes and the following day the next one starts.

This time, we have a one month gap. If you have a stay in May there is no bonus offer.

Secondly, it is a very weak offer unless you typically do low value one-night stays. Anyone spending £10,000 on a week at Conrad Maldives isn’t going to get too excited ….

What is your return here?

I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p so you are getting bonus points worth a grand total of £3.33 per STAY.

Yikes.

It doesn’t really move the needle, especially on multi-night stays. With the outlook for travel to/from the United States, where Hilton has 75% of its hotels, looking weak, I am a little surprised that it is willing to lock itself down to this offer until mid August.

The only upside is that reward stays count, so you get a small rebate on your redemption.

There is no small print

There is no small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website:

  • there is no minimum stay requirement
Hilton launches its new promo for June to August stays
  • existing bookings still count
  • there is no cap on the bonus points you can earn
  • all Hilton brands (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part
  • reward nights count

Conclusion

Hilton’s new ‘1,000 bonus points per stay’ offer is not going to excite many people, especially those doing more expensive or longer stays.

Admittedly if you’re planning a £50 one night stay at your local Spark it isn’t too bad, but I would have thought Hilton would be bolder at the moment.

However, bonus points are bonus points, so you don’t want to miss out.

You should make sure you register if you have any Hilton stays coming up in the 10 weeks from the start of June to mid August.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and the closing date of the promotion.

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

    Old link?

    • Nate1309 says:

The link under “there is no small print” is the correct one. But I still can’t register I get stuck in an accept cookies – page reloads – accept cookies loop.

    • Rob says:

      Sorry!

  • Chris says:

    Everyone throttling back after Covid

  • Kowalski says:

Wow that is weak from Hilton! It will be interesting to see what Marriott offer (if anything!)

    • BJ says:

For sure, $5 at even the cheapest rooms in the cheapest hotels in the cheapest town in the UK just doesn’t do anything. Especially when considering the enormous increase in parking fees many UK Hiltons have quietly slipped in in tha last couple of years.

  • Deb says:

I click on the link to sign in and keep going in a continous loop.

It asks for me to confirm cookies, which I do, then the page for me to enter my username and password appears for 1 second before the cookies page appears again. I just can’t get it to stay on the username / password page.

Is anyone else having this problem?

  • Jim Utd says:

    Same @deb

  • Steven says:

Same, can’t register due to looping cookies pop-up, since last night
