Virgin Atlantic’s new Los Angeles lounge joins Priority Pass

Last month Rhys flew out to Los Angeles to take a look at the brand new Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse.

Situated in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, it is the first entirely new Clubhouse to open since 2015 …. when the original Los Angeles Clubhouse opened!

In an interesting move, the lounge has joined Priority Pass.

Priority Pass Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Los Angeles International Airport

The bad news is that there is a $35 fee payable on top of your Priority Pass swipe. This is similar to how Clubrooms lounges in the UK work, where there is a £15 top-up payment.

Priority Pass is also blocked around the time of the evening Virgin Atlantic flights.

Priority Pass access is allowed between 08:00 – 17:00 and 20:00 – 23:00.

For comparison, the Virgin Atlantic flights depart at 15.30 (Priority Pass OK), 20.05 and 22.50.

The reason for the fee is that Virgin Atlantic does not seem to be cutting down on its offering during the times that Priority Pass cardholders get access. In the past, when Virgin Atlantic has worked with Priority Pass, it was basically ‘hiding the good stuff’ in terms of food and drink.

Whilst you will now have to pay $35, you should easily be able to get your money’s worth in terms of sustenance.

You can find out more on the dedicated lounge page of the Priority Pass website here.

  • Dominic says:

$35 seems reasonable to me – airline lounges frequently cost $100+ (at least in the ME), and obviously offer a far superior experience to standard airport lounges.

  • The Original Nick. says:

When booking Radisson hotels always book via the app as it’s always cheaper.

  • Travel Strong says:

I’m definitely in favour of a $35 supplement compared to the Virgin lounge approach at JFK, where the lounge flips to being the most basic offering in the airport during Priority Pass hours… And is empty as a result.
But the proof is in the pudding!

  • Andrew J says:

The PP would work ok for the 22:50 flight too, if you didn’t mind waiting until 20:00 to enter.

    • BlairWaldorfSalads says:

Not a problem considering how bad the TSA lines are at US airports. Many of us are ineligible for Global Entry so pot luck as to whether the ‘priority’ TSA line will be 30 mins, 60 mins, more.

    • AL says:

On the one hand, it hacks us loyalists off when this happens because it’s full of PPers on other airlines (which is a problem at LAX nowadays since every terminal is linked airside). On the other, if this is how we maintain sufficient cash to pay for a reasonable Clubhouse network, I’ll take it.

JFK VS is full of DL elites half the time, who haven’t realised that their own newer offerings are better. And don’t get me started on IAD…

      • Lady London says:

Nice to have choices these days though. I would hope to have OW status if I do go via LAX at some point though and would want to check out the QF lounge

  • Paul W says:

Your article states “You must book by 21st May for stays from 1st July to 10th September.” According to what I see on the Radisson website: “Book by May 6 and save up to 35% on stays between July 1 and September 10, 2025. Plus, earn 3,000 bonus points per stay.” There is even a picture of a ticking alarm clock at the top of the page. At the time of writing, it shows: The offer expires in 16h : 02m : 10s

    • Rob says:

There are 2 offers back to back as you will see when the clock ticks over!

      • Paul W says:

Thanks for the explanation Rob. As far as you can tell, is there any advantage to be had from booking the current offer, rather than wait for midnight?

        • Rob says:

If you click the T&C you see the other offer. As far as I can tell, no – Part 2 is only opening it up to non-members as well as members, albeit at a lower discount. Check the small print though.

There is some confusing stuff which appears to say that if you book a room now for 3,000 bonus points you will be emailed a special promo later to get a 2nd room with 6,000 bonus points but this wasn’t fully clear and wasn’t discussed in the information shared with us.

  • HughM says:

Dumb question: what would $35 convert to, on the ordinary Virgin Atlantic card (sterling)?

    • Panda Mick says:

Given that the exchange rate changes by the minute…..

  • Bervios says:

Re Radisson, the sale rate is higher than the normal rate when I’m searching for hotels. It’s cheaper when I’m not logged in.

  • Tom H says:

Sorry OT: I did a small tester of 200 hsbc to Qatar worked instantly and got my 130 points. But I can’t transfer to my BA account. Its linked and I can see my BA balance but can’t transfer! Any ideas?

    • Rob says:

What do you mean you can’t do it? You can get an error message? You can’t find the page?

      • Tom H says:

thanks for getting back to me. no error message, but when i type in 130 and try to move from qatar to BAEC, the ‘move my avios’ button isnt active/change colour/do anything when i click on it. This is the same whether i am on the app or on my laptop. Yet i can see my BAEC balance no probs and the 130 is showing in my Qatar account

        • Tom H says:

Ignore, a simple clear cookies and worked well on my laptop!
