SAS launches flights from Copenhagen to Mumbai

SAS, which is now a member of the SkyTeam alliance alongside Virgin Atlantic, has announced flights to Mumbai.

Services between Copenhagen and Mumbai will launch on 2nd June 2026.

The route will operate five days per week, year-round. It will be the first time in 17 years that SAS has flown to India.

SAS launches flights to Mumbai

Flights will leave Copenhagen at 13:10, arriving in Mumbai at 01:30 (+1). It will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

The return leaves Mumbai at 06:00, arriving in Copenhagen at 11:45. It will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

It will use an older A330, not the newer A350 SAS aircraft which we reviewed here in business class, although it features the same business class seat.

The timings are good for connections to and from the UK. Tickets go on sale on 1st July and should be available as redemptions with Virgin Points via Virgin Flying Club, or indeed any other SkyTeam mileage currency.

Buying flights on British Airways?

The British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card earns double Avios (3 Avios per £1) when used at ba.com.

The card comes with a sign-up bonus of 30,000 Avios. The standard earning rate is 1.5 Avios per £1.

You do not earn bonus Avios if you pay for BA flights on the free British Airways American Express Credit Card or either of the Barclaycard Avios Mastercards.

Buying flights on Virgin Atlantic?

Both the free Virgin Atlantic Reward Mastercard and the annual fee Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Mastercard earn double Virgin Points when used at fly.virgin.com.

This means 1.5 Virgin Points per £1 on the free card and 3 Virgin Points per £1 on the paid card.

There is a sign-up bonus of 3,000 Virgin Points on the free card and 18,000 Virgin Points on the paid card.
