Luxembourgian flag carrier Luxair is launching its latest foray into the UK with flights to Edinburgh. Existing routes include Manchester and London City to Luxembourg.
The bad news is the route doesn’t launch for another year, until July 2026.
Flights will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.

On Monday:
- LG4731 departs Luxembourg at midday and arrives in Edinburgh at 13:10
- LG4732 departs Edinburgh at14:00 and arrives in Luxembourg at 16:50
On Fridays:
- LG4733 departs Luxembourg at 13:30 and arrives in Edinburgh at 14:20
- LG4734 departs Edinburgh at 15:10 and arrives in Luxembourg at 18:00
There’s no word on what aircraft type will operate the route. Luxair is expecting its first E195-E2s early next year so it could be that. Alternatively, it might be a Dash 8.
Luxair uses Lufthansa’s Miles & More as its loyalty programme but is not a Star Alliance member.
You can read my review of Luxair’s (now discontinued) London City – Antwerp route here.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Luxembourg, we were there last week for the launch party for the new Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa. This review should appear next week.

How to maximise your miles when paying for flights (August 2025)

The card comes with a sign-up bonus of 20,000 Membership Rewards points. These would convert to 20,000 Avios or various other airline or hotel programmes. The standard earning rate is 1 point per £1.
