ENDS MONDAY: Get 9,000 Avios if you add a supplementary card to your free BA Amex

American Express has been running special offer for anyone who holds the free British Airways American Express Credit Card and who has never added a free supplementary cardholder. It ends tomorrow (Monday).
Until Monday 25th August, the bonus for adding your first supplementary card is increased to 9,000 Avios.
There is no spend target to hit on the supplementary card.

It’s an exceptionally good deal. This is a huge bonus when you consider that you only get 5,000 Avios for taking out the card as a main cardholder!
The only bit of small print to note is that “bonus Avios will appear in at least two instalments of 1,000 and 8,000” points, although reader experience is that all 9,000 Avios appear at once. You should get them as soon as the card is approved.
Your first supplementary card is free so this is a very easy pile of points.
This offer is only available on the FIRST supplementary card added to your American Express account. If you already have a supplementary card in issue, you will not get the bonus if you add another one to the same account.
You MUST use this page of the American Express website to apply.
Other cards also have supplementary card bonuses
Whilst no other card is running a special offer at the moment, the usual bonuses – as long as you apply via the link above – are available on other key American Express cards when you add your FIRST supplementary card:
- The Platinum Card – 5,000 Membership Rewards points
- The American Express Rewards Credit Card – 2,000 Membership Rewards points
- American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Card – 3,000 Membership Rewards points
- British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card – 3,000 Avios
- Marriott Bonvoy American Express Credit Card – 3,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
- Nectar Credit Card – 3,000 Nectar points
- The Harrods American Express Card – 1,000 Harrods Rewards points
- Platinum Cashback / Platinum Cashback Everyday – £5
How long does the offer run?
The special offer on the free British Airways American Express Credit Card runs to Monday night, 25th August.
If you have never issued a supplementary card in the past on your free BA Amex card, now is as good a deal as you will get.
You must use this special page of the American Express website to add your supplementary card. If you use any other page of the Amex website, your bonus may not track.
