    Morning all,

I book a few hotel nights 2 years ago when Rob wrote about the new Hyatt and thinking about finally going in March. I currently have a lot going on and a big trip planned in May so in two minds whether to go. Hoping to source some answers to the following to help me decide.

    1. What are the Covid policy like re getting in – I have read it but in practice is it straightforward?
    2. Are most things open at the moment?
    3. Is it difficult to get around speaking just English?
    4. What do you recommend doing, eating and seeing?

    Thanks all.

Not been recently but we had no issues speaking English. We had a sensational meal in the restaurant in the Fisherman’s Bastion – Hungarian wines were a revelation!

No idea what’s open at the moment but there’s plenty of sightseeing, museums, galleries etc. The lunch cruise on the Danube is very pleasant. It depends what you like doing really.

    I can help with 3 & 4.

    3) yes. English is spoken widely.

    4)
I’d recommend a walking tour to get your bearings – one that covers both Buda & Pest
Visit a ‘ruin’ bar – Simple is the most famous.
Gerbeaud cafe – coffee/cake/breakfast in historical surroundings
Thermal baths are great, especially in colder weather.
Budapest makery – innovative DIY restaurant that is fun.

Agree with everything mentioned. English is 100% fine and anything less than one thermal bath per day would be a waste! The public baths at Szechenyi and the Rudas baths are particular favourites.
