Amman – best IHG option?

Haven’t stayed at either but in return for your help with Tokyo hotel I can tell you the Landmark Amman is pleasant. Stayed there in November.

I stayed at the IC around four years ago. Personally, I really enjoyed it. The lounge is probably the best I have been too, as they serve dinner with waiter service. The lounge team where also attentive, friendly and helpful.

I cannot remember too much about the rooms, but vaguely remember thinking they may need a refrub soon, even if they were well maintained.

I stayed at IC Amman and the Hilton last months. I booked a classic room at the IC on points and was upgraded to a one bed suite. As mentioned, the rooms, and the hotel in general are dated but I much preferred it over the brand new Hilton. It is a large hotel and felt more like a resort than a city centre hotel. I would advise to manage expectations in Jordan in general as 5* is not the same as 5* in other Middle Eastern countries for eg.

The lounge had afternoon tea (you had to order) and canapés in the evening with wine / Prosecco. I had breakfast in the main dining area as a welcome amenity.

I didn’t go to the CP but it’s closer to 7th junction, which is the route to get out of Amman and travel south to Petra, Dead Sea etc. The IC is closer to downtown Amman. There is a lot of traffic in the city.

I didn’t notice smoking indoors when I was there. I loathe smoking with a passion so I’m sure I’d have noticed,
