First flight for a long time. Would anyone be able to advise on the best lounge to use when flying Club Europe from T5. Thanks

Galleries South (B terminal) is quieter so I find that nicer.

If you’re departing from A terminal then it’s a bit of a faff (IMHO) as you can’t get the train back, you need to factor a 10-15 min walk back. If from B or C gate then I’d recommend Galleries South.

Unlikely that a Club Europe flight would go from B. I prefer North to South in ‘A’.

How do you find out whether your flight is likely to be leaving from T5 A or B? I’ve had a look but can’t seem to find the information.

Short haul – almost certainly A

Long haul – almost certainly B or C

For long haul, note that the check-in desks know the gate at the point you check-in, even though it isn’t displayed until a lot later. After all, the aircraft is likely to already be parked. There is possibly a deal with Heathrow to keep you in ‘A’ where the shops are for as long as possible. Ask at the desk and they will tell you.

Also, google your flight number and it’ll tell you which gate the last one left from.

If I’m at the airport a bit early, even if I know I’m probably departing from A gates, I often go to the lounge in B gates especially if the airport is busy. The B lounge always seems to be peaceful and quiet, and has a good amount of seats with views of the outside. If your flight is departing from A gates, you then need to walk back along the passageway at level -4 (not the train)
