I surprisingly received Platinum’s Departures magazine today in the post. It is mostly ads but nice to have it.
Yes, it seems that whilst the US edition was scrapped, the European edition will continue.
It is odd to scrap it. It was full of ads and the easiest way to reach high Amex spenders in print.
Reminds me a huge hotel reduction we got due to a misleading ad for a top hotel in KL. can’t remember the name now. But it was £200 off a night booked. When l called the specific hotel to book directly, to get the reduction, they had no idea they were even featured in the magazine. Hilarious really. So l called Plat concierge, who just credited us the £200 anyway, as they had used that hotel to advertise the promo, but it wasn’t actually included, confusing or what… but that magazine has it’s uses. Nice to browse through also.
