Not 100% sure what you’re trying to do here. If you want to change your Chennai booking (as opposed to BA cancelling), the BWC guarantee might kick in (I’m a bit hazy on the dates this applies to, though), but if you did this BA would probably push back and say they can only rebook it within 12 months of the original ticketing date. Also, of course, you wouldn’t be able to get a FTV if you did this.
If you get a FTV, your 241 will be extended until Sep23, so you could then use it for any route where there was avios availability. I think you would either get another FTV back, or cash/avios depending on how much “change” there was, were you to use it for a short haul booking instead.
