also if you earn any points in the first week or two after the date of your collection year ending you can call up and ask for them to be applied to the previous year. I did this to salvage silver a few years ago.
CAREFUL: BA considers the 450 points an “offer” and to grant the 2 weeks grace period another “offer”.
You can get one or the other but not both.
People here have mentioned that when trying to use points on the 2 weeks grace period they have found BA expected they had 600 points for silver.
Everyday is school day on HfP — I could easily have relied on that at year end had that not been flagged here.
I was planning the same too – hearing this makes me glad I switched my upcoming Athens flights to Aegean – I’m aiming for Star status now. Have given up on BA. Plan to use for long haul redemptions only using vouchers only
