@mutley check your original flight wasn’t cancelled… this looks like a cancellation more than a delay. The clue is if flight number changes. Makes claim easier.
I would claim as at this short notice it’s lack of crew or lack of aircraft neither of which is exceptional circumstances. BA may try to lie and say ATC but this just doesn’t look like that. Expertflyer or EDI airport may have the reason.
I’d check if it’s cancellation or delay techically, go for canx claim if possible, and absolutely whack a claim in. £220.
I wonder how many of the Americans whose EDI-LON was also cancelled or severely delayed, will know that assuming they were on a connecting ticket back to the US via LON, there’s a good chance their arrival time back in the US means they can put in a £520 compensation claim?
