I thought everything was valid as long as you paid with any Amex.
Do the expenses have to have been paid by Amex? I’ve paid by Curve/Barclaycard Avios due to better exchange rates.m (although they’re not that great at the weekend). I did pay for our Eurostar back on Amex (but I’m hoping, probably futilely, that BA will refund me for those).
Yes, payment on Amex is expressed as a condition in the Travel Inconvenience section but read the terms carefully – it has very limited application.
