I think we’re bit confused by exactly what you’re looking to do.

The price and Avios you’ve quoted is for a single economy return seat. For me, it is coming out at 13,000 avios plus £520, though I’m looking at RFS pricing which you may not see if you’ve not earned or redeemed any Avios in the past 12 months.

If you’re booking for two with a 2for1 voucher you’d be looking at 13,000 Avios for both seats, but still £520 each at that combination level. That assumes you have the option to select that combination with an old style 2for1 (Note: with the voucher selected the options you see may be different).

If you’re using the voucher to half the Avios requirement for one person I’d expect it to drop to 6,500 Avios at that level, but again that it assumes you can do that with your old style 2for1. It was my understand that option is restricted to the new style vouchers.

If you want to return in business class that will substantially increase the Avios and cash required.

Cash fares for the same dates are currently available from £378 (hand baggage only) or £478 (with a checked bag). £520 plus some Avios doesn’t look like a great deal on that basis, although it does come with the advantage that you cancel it for a £35 fee per person, whereas the straight cash fares are non-refundable.
