@baec_newbie – what are you expecting from Barclays? Should they be paying for the privilege of having you as a customer? In addition to the ludicrously generous SUBs / dual product bonus they have been offering, Barclays does offer ongoing loyalty awards, 1500 Avios/month for the Premier account (net cost £7/month) plus more if you have other products, plus you get the voucher which, as you have identified, is worth much more than 7,000 Avios – say absolute minimum 15,000 or c. £150. On top of that you get the highest earning (non Amex) Avios card on the market.

Presumably you have cancelled while waiting for another provider to launch a better card that will better reward your ‘loyalty’??
