Agree with both Andrew’s points – don’t pay extra for lounge access, it’s not worth it. Breakfast was excellent with Lorne sausage and potato scones on the buffet. We stayed last month – I booked a suite to trigger one of the Amex cash back offers and a 2nd night on points and they let us stay in the suite for both nights. The only drawback was that Michael Buble was on at the Hydro place and it was insanely busy when we checked in on a Saturday – the queue was the entire length of the hotel and we only got into our room at 4.30 pm. Pool wasn’t the best, freezing and slightly grubby.
Parking was pretty reasonable (£9 pn ish), and much more convenient than trying to park in the city centre. I don’t know how convenient it is if you’re travelling by train as there are still no intercity rail services for us at weekends so we have to drive to most places!
