Hi, we have been twice now (most recent time was April this year) and we deem it as a “safe” destination. Metro is clean, service is excellent in the hotels, taxis are extremely reasonable. The weather is good. You don’t get pestered and have to worry about any pickpocketing.

I travelled BA109 (in PE) and there wasn’t a spare seat on the whole aircraft Apparantly.

How long you going for? Have you thought about splitting your stay between 2 hotels? We stayed at the Conrad for 2 nights and it was brilliant. A metro station is literally seconds from the hotel entrance and it’s only a few stops to the Dubai Mall. You may just get a taxi though. The Greek restaurant in the Conrad is absolutely superb and the pool area is in a fantastic setting. The breakfast was fantastic but we also ventured to the lounge, which again is really good.
I haven’t read the reviews of the WA lately but I recall a while ago one person reviewing it and saying it wasn’t luxurious at all and it was like a scene out of Benidorm. Obviously you have to take reviews with a pinch of salt but I certainly wouldn’t put you off booking the Conrad.
