I’m not sure why ‘hack’ took on that new meaning that now predominates on listicle websites. Very unhelpful emerging as it did around the time of GDPR’s introduction and greater obligations to inform end users of data breaches. I’d rather the (mis)use of hack in recent years withered away so that it can be clearly understood in future. Much like how I use CFTs (charges, fees and taxes) when referring to the cash element of award flights; TFCs gives the wrong relative weighting.
