Reply To: Downgrade of BAPP – AmEx just said I can’t

The main BAPP article on HFP still states you can downgrade for free at anytime (and has been updated with the pro-rate fee refund change). I appreciate that doesn’t specifically address the downgrade/upgrade/downgrade dance specifically, but from what I’ve read, this isn’t an unusual practice. I also appreciate HFP and AmEx are not the same thing and AmEx can do want they want according to their t&c.

Anyway, I will try again on the phone and see what happens. I just wanted to see if the rules had changed, and from I can tell the answer isn’t an obvious yes or no.
