Indeed. Some busy minimum-wage desk minder may have been overworked/undermotivated and may not have been as helpful as they could have been. Even in better resorts this happens. Did you yourself suggest an alternative they might offer you – e.g. enquire about room service or a taxi?
Surely as a well travelled HfP reader you have encountered a fully booked restaurant, a kitchen disaster or a power cut at SOME point in your life before and so can’t have really been truly “shocked” at one restaurant not being able to offer you food on one particular night; and have adequate capability to manage that situation; perhaps by walking to one of the 4 other restaurants within the same resort complex or the 3 restaurants literally across the road?
Sure you can contact the manager and complain; they might even toss you a complimentary something or other for service recovery; but bet they’re thinking the same thing…
