Children over 2 are charged the same amount of avios as adults. I can’t remember if they get a reduction in fees, possibly not on RFS bookings.
But you’re going to be paying similar prices on cash fares, the “child pricing” we tend to think of is usually for discounted package deals with tour operators, which you don’t see much these days.
Hence why our travel has become 1/3 cheaper since our son decided he’s too cool to come on holiday with us!
275k avios isn’t actually very many when you look at how many you need for a long haul flight!
