So update. My conscience correctly got the best of me and I phoned Amex and talked it through with them. Apparently a case has been raised to claw back the 30k Avios points from BA (is this even possible?)

I said that’s ok and fair, but what I didn’t want to happen if that wasn’t possible, was that my BAPP Amex account go into 30k Avios arrears, off the back of a mistake by someone in Brighton and no fault of my own.

I’m not convinced the person I spoke to knew what they were raising a case for exactly but at least it’s out in the open and what will be will be.

Honesty always the best policy. Let’s wait and see.
