There’s one in NYC that just worked for me a few days ago.

I don’t want to post the name, but it should be fairly easy to find given that —

1. I’ve provided the location (New York City)
2. There’s a link to buy gift cards on the website and, when you click, you’ll get taken to a toasttab.com website. This is the same POS as the restaurant uses to process actual orders (which is presumably why buying gift cards in this way works)

This is brilliant thank you. I have trawled the restaurants available and found there are multiple using toasttab. Could you possibly give one more clue please?

To be honest, I think *any* restaurant processing gift cards through toasttab would probably be OK. Some US Amex cards have a similar restaurant credit for Resy (different set of restaurants to choose from) and I’ve used those credits at a bunch of restaurants buying GCs through various toasttab portals (I’m a US expat, so I’ve got some US Amex cards as well. This trick has worked well to use those credits given that I’m not in the US every month!).

But, to answer your question and to give one more hint about the specific transaction my prior post alluded to. What’s the opposite of black?
