Times square is too busy/noisy for me, just have to look at the live cams! I’d recommend the Hyatt place, new when we stayed very cost effective, plenty of Irish bars around, if you wanted that, and restaurants, same value as the one on Bath road Heathrow, 4 minute walk to the port authority bus terminus, ideal for a trip to Woodbury common, for some retail therapy.
