Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club 1hr and 55mins schedule change

Hi, our flight is changed by 1hr and 55mins (later than original arrival time) which is 5 mins short of the guideline from BA where you can get free change. Feel a bit harsh on this but is there anything we can do? I have not try HUACA yet but we cannot afford to be late for this event especially if there is any further (on the day) delay to that.

You’ve read the policy and so have the agents so I don’t see them doing anything for you.

Thanks @BAFIHGS . We were not trying to take the micky of BA or anything. It just that we have an important event upon arrival and 2 hours delay would stress everything out hence we were hoping they can put us on an earlier flight even a day earlier (i.e. additional expense on hotel by ourselves) but it won’t impact the event we have to attend. 5 minutes short is kinda harsh the way we see it. Will report back though if any luck.

If you can explain exactly why the re-timed flight is unsuitable and why the day before would would you might find an agent willing to let you change.

I don’t think there is any rule/law/guideline to assist you, so it’s a case of asking very nicely and hoping for the best (or hoping for another schedule change!)

I agree with Matt that it is worth asking BA, especially if you have any special circumatsances like travelling with a small child. It sounds as if you would haave quite a stressful flight worrying about whether you would arrive on time, even if the flight departed on the new schedule.
