I have used my BAPP 241 on a booking which I needed assistance with on the BAEC phone line. Avios and taxes are all correct but they have reaccredited my 241 voucher even though it’s used. Anyone had this before?
I’ve not heard of that, but I’ve heard of getting TP and avios when there have been change that affect the fare bucket. Perhaps their assistance resulted in a rebooking in the back end?
If it was me I’d just keep quiet and consider booking another flight and playing dumb. Or just ignore it and let it expire.
This happened to me too. I booked a one-way flight with Avios and had to wait for the inbound flight to be available. Agent added it on and all the Avios are correct, but my voucher showed up again and is seemingly usable. I haven’t tried to use but it’s definitely showing as available. Even called up to check the booking was all in the system and was told everything looked ok.
Hopefully, for most people an error by BA like this doesn’t present too much of a dilemma. You have the choice of defrauding or attempting to defraud BA by intentionally using the voucher twice, something that might or might not get picked up before, during or after travel. Alternatively, you can alert BA so they take the voucher or do nothing, hope your missing voucher trip goes smoothly and let the voucher expire.
PS. the option of “playing dumb” suggested above won’t get anyone very far!

Whilst I don’t disagree with honesty being the best policy. There is an argument whereby BA actually benefit. The OP is far likely to spend more money with BA to use the “error” voucher than by not doing. A win win. Bank error in your favour. Collect 200 as it goes in Monopoly
Trying to upgrade an return leg on a BAPP 241 to club Europe as availability just appeared on seat spy which the BA agent confirmed.
After 20 minutes on hold am being told that this isn’t possible with companion vouchers – I have definitely done this before are they wrong or is this new T&Cs?
