2for1 voucher on Iberia

Can anyone explain how to book Iberia flights with the new style BA PREMIUM AMEX 2for1 voucher?

Can this be done online?

Does it work for flights starting in Madrid?

I assume if will be cheaper to book from Madrid to avoid high UK APD.

1. Yes. Select the voucher and search as normal

3. Untested by me, but TFCs between Iberia.com and BA.com have never been aligned anyway, so I’d very much expect differences. APD will be reduced. If you’re Avios rich and cash poor you might want to forgo the voucher and just book on Iberia.

Note: Iberia release few J seats and there’s no ‘extra’ availability when using the voucher, so be ready for disappointment with your search results. Seat spy won’t help.

You’ll pay the same on ba.com as on Iberia site. Not only will you avoid APD, but also BA surcharges. The taxes to South America come up to around £200-220 per person rt in J.

I have never had too much trouble finding J seats on Iberia. Also peak/off-peak dates are different to BA so it does help if you’re looking around UK holidays.

You can also book return leg to London/UK on the same ticket to avoid APD and surcharges and for easy transfer on the way back. However, this requires a call to BA as it can’t be done online.
