Still nothing for me – have opened an official complaint. Well at least I think I have. With the competence of the chat agents who really knows ?
I had the strangest chat with them….
told them I didn’t get the £5, and they said they would look to get it sorted… so I asked “what happens next – will someone let me know its fixed” and got a big spiel about sorry that I was so upset about it, we take the issue seriously etc, have £10 gesture of goodwill
very random lol
My £5 came in on 6th May.
I had to contact them on the web chat and say I wanted to make a complaint. And they said my rewards and barclaycard account weren’t linked which they said they did and to expect it within a few weeks. And yes the £5 came in a couple weeks later
Really? that’s what I’ve been told too but I haven’t seen any refund yet… I’m owed £15 (3 x £5) – does it work retrospectively?
It’s now over 9 weeks since I complained to Barlcays about missing Dual Rewards. I’ve had no response except 4 letters saying they are still investigating so I’ve now referred my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. It’s a shame I’ve had to do this about something that should be trivial for Barclays to resolve.

Seems to be hit and miss. I had my £5 credit without any prompting.
I’ve raised a complaint too – seems easiest option

I’ve automatically gotten my last two.
Looking at previous statements, I haven’t gotten my first two months. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth the effort to complain about such a small amount.

Barclays called today, almost 10 weeks after my complaint. The lady said she was new in the role and came across as quite nervous, maybe she’d come off a previous call with an angry customer. Anyway she said glitches happen and she would pay the missing Dual Rewards into my account. No sign of the missing rewards yet.
Yeah probably not worth the time complaining about two missing rewards. At the time I complained, I’d received none and the chat agent said I wasn’t eligible.
Checking my statement the other day I noticed they had actually given me a £40 goodwill payment. I presume this is related to my complaint but obviously they haven’t actually confirmed that to me.
Still – probably about the right level of compensation for the time I’ve spent chasing !
I got my £5 back this month for the first time. What I don’t have is the credit for the previous months it wasn’t credited, and that I was told would happen when I complained.
Having got the upgrade voucher I’m going to cancel the card as the reward now is too little to make the £20, or possibly £15/month worthwhile.
For what it’s worth I just used the app to downgrade to the free card. I got a shedload of Avios and the upgrade voucher for maybe £100, I’m happy with that. Barclays probably could have retained me as a plus customer paying them if they were not so useless. I particularly dislike the SMS and app messages that the statement is available, only to find it’s not, then several days later it just appears. The complaints I made to them were very poorly handled, and if I cared more I’d complain about the complaint process which is one of the poorest I’ve had the misfortune to encounter in financial services.
