On Sunday, I booked flights to JNB for next April. Selected the 777 as it had club suites rather than the A380.
This morning I’ve had a seat change come through on both out & back legs. Now showing as a 777 with old club world and starting in row 10 through to 16. They’ve also added F class for sale (was only J, W & Y when I booked), although no award availability despite it being the big 14 seat cabin.
Surprised that they are admitting this won’t be complete before the summer schedule…
Ignore me – they’ve swapped the 777 for an A380. Hey ho!
This sounds like an “LGW” F bird that went across to LHR when COVID hit. They’re actually refurbished to the LGW standard – new Y & W seats and new IFE throughout but not CS, just refreshed old CW seats. They currently operate Barbados, Orlando and Nairobi but Orlando is LGW only next summer
Wouldn’t be surprised if these never got CS, no plans at the moment.
There are 3 completely unrefurbished 777s still flying in a 3 class config – they are the ones to get upset about!
Ignore me – they’ve swapped the 777 for an A380. Hey ho!
Indeed – double daily on the schedule at the moment! Not a bad route for the A380 to be honest due to the extended ground time downroute, they seem to struggle with the intensive routings / quick turnarounds they’ve been trying to do with them this summer
Should I expect them to offer up some F award availability as well? At the minute only full fat F fares (£8k) each way are showing, whereas the earlier flight has A class at about 1/3rd of that
I’d have thought so – 28F seats is a lot per day. Might be worth a seatspy subscription!
Just been swapped today to a 380 for an April MIA outbound trip. Return from NOLA is still 787. Happy as this will be our first 380 flight. 😎
Our outbound from LHR to MIA in July ‘23 has also been switched to a 380, and to a 787 for inbound.
April 30th, showing 7 F award seats on the swapped out Jo’burg to London flight. Doesn’t help me, unfortunately and beyond that availability is really patchy!
So quite a bit of F award availability came up overnight. Not every day but up to 6 or 7 seats on some flights Have been able to upgrade our bookings – the best £70 on telephone service fees I’ve ever spent, I’d say.
Excellent. It’s almost better spent on the A380 as its such an improvement over CW. Enjoy !
