All ‘good’ things come to an end.

Excellent news for us, true loyal customers.

It might be helpful to add the detail to the current thread on this!

@Coo This posting statements as definitive without anything to back it up is unhelpful and mildly frustrating…
However, as a Diamond extended to the end of 2024 via IHG’s recent ‘extending your benefits’ debacle around the ending of the IHG Creation rewards cards (https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/another-ihg-error-welcome-to-platinum-email/page/2/#post-520861) I will not be immediately worrying about this.

Of course, it made absolutely no difference to ‘true loyal customers’, but dont let that stop you sounding like an ass 🙂

@FFoxSake Thanks for posting some useful information! It may be premature to declare this ‘extension’ feature as dead in the water but it doesn’t look encouraging… still, I will never under-estimate the ability of IHG to have messed this up unintentionally and so also to later ‘fix’ it again… we will see!

No, not encouraging. Luckily my wife got a 2024 Diamond extension as an ex-IHG credit card holder so I can push bookings via her account next year.

Remember that IHG Luxury & Lifestyle rates via Emyr get you breakfast, hotel credit etc (and he gets you lounge access as well as selected ICs such as Paris Le Grand) so that is an alternative route for bookings.

    Next year is looking interesting:

    – Will IHG soft land me to Platinum or will I hit nothing? If nothing, do I buy Ambassador or just book everything via my wife or Emyr?
    – Marriott – will retain Plat
    – Accor – will retain Plat
    – Hilton – unless they do another ‘one stay to retain’ challenge it looks like I’m down to Gold
    – GHA – I have GHA Titanium until the end of 2024 (not hard, just 3 stays needed at different brands)

I should have add /s to that since you are unable to recognise sarcasm.

I’m sure you’ll do fine Rob. Your endless pot of points can pay for almost everything.

No Hyatt status? I recall that you were gifted Globalist a little while back? No soft landing?

The main reason you were criticised is because your original, thread starting post contained no detailed news nor evidence to substantiate your news. Constructive criticism is not bullying.

The “loyal customer” comment you claim to have been sarcasm looks a lot more like trolling from where I’m standing.

TLDR You got what you deserved.

Also you should be in HFP jail for duplicating a thread, that’s what’s really annoying 😂

As @Rob says, if you want breakfast included and extra perks, just book via Emyr.

Some of us still have IHG points/vouchers to burn!

    NorthernLass 9,016 posts

Surely you’ve got until the end of next year as Diamond though, @Froggee?

We have 1 million points and 3 free nights between us. Looking forward to 5 nights at the Kimpton Seafire next June with free breakfast.

If you can’t get breakfast any other way, think HIE and Staybridge Suites. Perfect while you’ve got small kids!

We stayed at the new Staybridge Suites in Liverpool a few months ago, it was amazing value. I paid 20k points for a 1 bedroom suite, got upgraded to a better 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, was “guest of the day” at check-in and breakfast was perfectly fine, if a little chaotic due to it being school holidays.

Low quality troll is low quality.
