Add Amex 241 later to existing booking?

Looking to book 4 adults (two couples) on CW avios redemption.
Couple 1 has 241 voucher but couple 2 don’t (yet). Can I book now, pay the standard avios rate for couple 2 and add a voucher to the booking at a later date?

No. The only bookings that can have a 241 applied to retrospectively are return legs where outbound was already booked with a voucher.

Could couple 2 not expedite achieving their voucher by prepaying council tax or utilities?

It’s not the spend that’s the issue. It’s the anniversary of the BAPP.

If you’re really desperate, couple 2 could apply for another BAPP and try and put the spend through super quickly. You’d need to time the bookings as close together as possible to get the 4 seats unless it’s a route with lots of availability. Or if you’re about to earn a 2nd voucher, you could book for 4 of you as long as both vouchers were earned by the same card holder. And they’d need to be on your friends and family list.
