Adding on flights to am Avios/ Amex Voucher

I am am a bit rusty with all the Avios & Amex Companion Voucher rules, having booked straightforward there & back flights in recent yeats. So I just wanted to check I was not missing a trick before I go any further.

We have a BA First LHR-LAX flight booked with Avios & an Amex Voucher. We will be away for a month & I am going to add on the return sector NYC-LHR in Business (I always think First in a night flight is a waste of Avios).

During the time we are away we will be flying to Hawaii from LAX (4 days after arrival), then fling back to either Seattle or Vancouver as we are visiting Vancouver Island. Then we will be visiting NYC before returning home.

Can any of the internal flight be added to the initial booking for any additional benefits, or is thast all wisful thinking?

@Dr Devon – are you aware there are two 8 am departures from NYC (one ex JFK, one ex EWR)? Much less painful than any overnight flight plus you can save even more avios by travelling in PE unless you think it’s worth 6 hours in CW.

Thanks NorthernLass, I was but I am not good at getting up at 4am to get to the airport on time & I sleep like a log on a CW seat.
