Advice sought: interaction of cash/avios availability

Looking to buy 10 seats of LON-MAD with either BA or Iberia.
There are 4 Avios seats available, and cash tickets rather cheap at the moment.

Do I
1) Book Avios first, risking this may increase price of cash tickets?
or
2) Book cash first, risking this may decrease availability of Avios seats?

Interesting question!

I would do one to the point immediately before payment (so that the seats are ‘gone’) then do the other on a different browser (incognito). You can then cancel and repeat it the opposite way around.

Can you get expertflyer or similar to see how many seats are in various buckets?

The cash tickets may have to be bought in several bookings if there are fewer than 6 in the lowest bucket(s).
