-
So I booked a flight using my Amex travel credit and cash. The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 18:05. ( Which was cutting it close for me anyway). Delta then changed the flight time to 17:10, and then yesterday to 17:25. At no point did I agree to or do anything about the changes till yesterday when I logged onto the Amex site, clicked on ” Changes and cancellations” link and got a pop up message telling me to call Amex to discuss my options. I called them and got a message saying effectively very busy, call tomorrow.
I have now called again and spoke to them and was informed that I had agreed to the changes yesterday so nothing I can do. 100% positive that I did not agree to ANYTHING.
This is my first time using Amex travel as I usually book all my flights (100’s for me and my team every year) direct. Can anyone please give any advise on the subject who has more experience with them than I do?Ultimately, my preferred result would be to either get a more suitable flight, or to cancel and get my voucher back to use on a more suitable flight ( Although I think it was due to expire at the end of August, so not sure how that would impact)
Any thoughts please before I go back to them?
Many Thanks
Go onto delta.com, My Trips, put in your booking ref and see if you get any options for a free change or refund as a delta voucher. Delta are pretty good these days, you may have to pay the difference because it’s only changed by 40 mins.
Delta.com may not let you do anything though as it’s booked via a travel agent but it’s worth a try.
Yeah thanks – I tried that and unfortunately it has to go via the agent.
I’m sorry but with a schedule change of less than an hour I’m not sure you’re going to get any sort of cancellation and refund.
What do you mean by a “more suitable flight” ?
I just mean one that I can actually make…. I’ve got work stuff till what would have been just before I got to the airport, and as I mentioned, it was gonna be pretty tight anyway. There is just no way I can get there any earlier. Unfortunately that’s also the last flight of the day that they fly to where I’m going. I could do the next day, just not earlier. That’s what I meant by ” more suitable”…
Yeah I guess I’ll just have to hope they change the time again. I’d already chosen the airline based on the departure time… The latest American Airlines flights was even earlier.
